Instructs direct care personnel in principles and techniques of transplantation. Educates and counsels patients and families. Functions Assist in evaluation of candidates' suitability for Transplant procedures by interviewing patients and families to obtain medical and personal histories, by reviewing diagnostic test results to verify accuracy and completeness and by reviewing information with Physicians. Coordinate medical procedures by scheduling: Inpatient admissions. Laboratory tests. Imaging examinations. Pre-operative and post-operative clinic visits. Patient transports. Other services required by patients and families. Coordinate and monitor post-operative care plan and its results and take corrective action as required. Educate patients and families regarding Transplant procedures including testing, pre-operative and post-operative care, and physical/psychological effects of procedures. Remain knowledgeable of new procedures and practices in transplantation. Provide instruction to patient care personnel in principles and techniques of transplantation. Compile, calculate, and analyze variety of medical, statistical, and operational data and prepare reports for medical research projects and in order to report data required by regulatory agencies. Provide Physicians with assessments of patient condition. Review treatment forms to verify data required to maximize reimbursement has been entered. Route relevant information from patient to appropriate departments. Qualifications: Must Have a degree from an accredited college/university Must have 2 - 5 years ofexperience.
